While I draw on a number of different approaches, below is a brief summary of the schools of therapy that have been most influential in informing my practice.

Depth psychology shifts the focus from a “quick fix” orientation, to a more long-term, soulful process of self-discovery. It explores the workings of the imagination, dreams, and unexpressed longings. Depth psychology is essentially a therapy aimed at making the unconsciousness, more conscious by bringing it into the light of awareness.

Humanistic psychology believes that each person has everything they need within them for self-healing, and that humans naturally move towards growth and self-fulfillment when given an environment of authenticity, unconditional love and positive regard.

*Bioenergetic analysis is an in-depth study of the human body and how it relates to each person’s psychology. There are five primary body structures, each with its own corresponding defense patterns and ways of blocking our energy. Bioenergetic analysis can give us a lot of information about childhood trauma and the primary healing paths for addressing old wounds. It can even go a step further, and describe the original trauma within the context of our soul’s journey.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy entails an exploration of thought patterns, and the ways in which they limit our reality and stunt our happiness. Limiting beliefs are then replaced with positive, more truthful perspectives, which often translates into a more expanded and brighter experience of life.

*Bioenergetic analysis is used in my practice as an assessment tool for deepening my understanding of, and thus more deeply resonating with, the unique path of each person's healing journey.
